Strongman Battle Of Giant – Sierra Leone VS Liberia

All roads will lead to the Gigibonta Car Park, Aberdeen Beach in Freetown on Sunday 27th March 2022 to witness the battle for supremacy between Sierra Leone and Liberia in ‘The Strongest Man Exhibition’.

The one-day exhibition which  organised by the Sierra Leone Strongest Man Association will see participants from both countries contesting in events such as 250kg Farmers Walk-25 meters, Tyre Flip-25 meters, 200kg Squat Machines Reps, 200kg Deadlight Machine Reps, Atlas Stone-100kg, 110kg,115kg,120kg, 125kg and more.  

Speaking to this medium, the Technical Director of the Sierra Leone Strongest Man Sport, Coach Sonny Johnson said they had completed successful trials for participants that will be representing Sierra Leone against their Liberian counterpart. “As a technical team we have done our best in terms of preparations. It is only left with the contestant to make the Country proud,” he said.

“This is the maiden edition Strongest Man exhibition between Sierra Leone and Liberia, and we hope to have other countries involved in the future. We hope to represent Sierra Leone in future competitions as far as the Strongest Man Sport in concern, this is just a stepping stone for the sport in Sierra Leone,” he said.

He went on to state that they would be taking part in international competitions as they are now a member in the World Strongest Man Federation.

 “They are well aware of all our activities in the Country and also  advise us on how to go about in structuring the sports, assist us with some of the necessary equipment,” The Technical Director emphasised.

Johnson appealed to Sierra Leoneans to go in their numbers to support Team Salone who will be competing in their first ever international competition against our next door neighbour and close rival, Liberia.
