Teacher Awaits Land Fraud Sentence

Thirty-four (34) years old Lansana Tomboyekeh, a teacher, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court no.1 in Freetown on a count of obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act, 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, sometime in June 2024 at Crabtown, Aberdeen in Freetown, with intent to defraud, the accused obtained NLe8,000 (eight thousand leones) from Alieu Saraye on the pretext that he had a plot of land for sale knowing same to be false.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty. The accused person was not legally represented.

Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to 27th July, 2024, for record and sentence.
