TENSION AROUND APC HEAD QUATERS

By Mohamed Jalloh

Fear and panic continue to grip residents around the APC party headquarters at Brookfields after the declaration of Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio as the winner of the presidential runoff.

One of the residents along the Railway leading to the APC headquarters is Juniour Bio who was the parliamentary aspirant for the SLPP in Constituency 126.

The nephew of the president elect revealed to nightwatch that his house was vandalized by APC thugs immediately before the announcement of the runoff results.

“Whenever there is an APC activity the thugs at the party headquarters descend on my house pelting stones and other missiles. That is why throughout the electioneering period I had no option but to abandon my house for the safety of my life.”

Junior Bio said that whenever his house is destroyed the matter is reported to the police but no arrests were made. He however thanked the police for cordoning the area between his house and the party headquarters.

He concluded that the police presence has minimized the risk of clash between the jubilating SLPP supporters and the APC thugs who are looking for trouble.

Along the Hannah Benka Cocker route, the police had to release teargas canisters to disperse an angry mob chasing a man bleeding on the forehead suspected to be an SLPP supporter.
