In a broadcast message on a local radio station on Sunday, Bishop Archibald Cole of the New Life Ministries International said that there are two factors that cannot be controlled by human beings, namely seasons and time. He said since time immemorial there have been the rainy and dry seasons without change.
The Bishop said though there was one congregation that he was addressing there were virtually two congregations with one weeping and the other on a roller coaster. He said that he belonged to the ones that were weeping. He said that it was time to end the “halaki and wahala”.
Even if the Bishop had not spoken there were signs and non-signs from the supernatural world that the A.P.C. was not going to win. It is unfortunate that the rainbow that encircled the sun (the party symbol of the ruling party) was misinterpreted as a sign of winning by overzealous party enthusiasts as a sign of winning. They ignored the fact that when a teacher encircles any work done by a student it means something to be disregarded as irrelevant.
There was also the absence of the octopus that accurately predicted the winning of the A.P.C. Most of all is the fact that the superstitious year ending 7, in which they had been winning elections, was missed this time round.
