Mohamed Fornah, Daniel Goba and Alhaji Conteh made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown on two counts charges of conspiracy contrary to law and larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, the accused on Saturday 28 January 2023 at Peninsular Road in Freetown conspired together to commit a felony, to wit, larceny
The charge sheet furthers that the accused stole one hundred and fifty pieces of timber logs each valued at one hundred and sixty leones (NLe160) totalling twenty four thousand leones (NLe24,000) and other assorted timber logs all to the total value of forty-six thousand one hundred leones (NLe46,100) property of Pastor Sia Nyandemah.
The charges were read and explained to the accused and they pleaded not guilty. Counsel representing the accused Ibrahim Turay renewed his previous bail applications on behalf of the accused.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura granted the accused fifty thousand leones (NLe50,000) bail with two sureties in like sum, adding that sureties must be resident within Freetown.
The bail condition furthered that one of the surety must be a responsible citizen with a national passport, adding that the sureties should produce valid national identification cards depicting their addresses in Freetown and that bail should be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
The matter comes up on 23 March 2023 for further hearing.
