To Improve Internet Penetration and Mobile Data… Orange-SL Unveils Commercial New Site At Moyamba Junction

Orange Sierra Leone as part of its commitment to improving Sierra Leone’s internet penetration and mobile data, has on Friday, 29th August, 2019 unveiled a new commercial site at Moyamba Junction, Fakunya Chiefdom in Moyamba District.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Chief Financial Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer, Orange Sierra Leone, Antoine G. Rato, revealed that the unveiling of the site at Moyamba Junction is part of his company’s strides to ensure that all Sierra Leoneans have access to quality and affordable mobile services in the country.
He said since Orange came into operations in Sierra Leone, the company has invested hugely towards expanding its network by building more new sites in strategic towns and cities in the country.

He disclosed that the building of more sites is to ensure that customers have very strong network to communicate with one another.
He admonished the people of Moyamba Junction and its environs to take great care of the site which, he noted, will facilitate effective communication.
The provision of the facility, according to the Acting Chief Executive Officer, will also provide an opportunity for residents of Moyamba Junction and its surroundings to access the company’s promotions and corporate social responsibility gestures.
Head of Media and Public Relations, Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Annie Wonnie-Katta, speaking at the ceremony noted that Orange Sierra Leone has taken the lead in terms of unleashing Corporate Social Responsibilities to its subscribers.
She added the installation of the site at Moyamba Junction is precipitated by numerous complaints Orange Sierra Leone has received regarding the poor network in the area.
She revealed that the site will benefit thousands of residents of Moyamba Junction and its immediate environs.
Annie Wonnie Katta cited that Orange Sierra Leone has hugely complemented government’s efforts in ensuring the delivery of quality telecommunications services to many Sierra Leoneans across the country.
She particularly singled out the Orange Money platform which, she noted, has provided easy access to financial services in line with the aspirations of the New Direction Government.
The Marketing Director, Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Alimatou Mbaye, reiterated the benefits they stand to derive from the new site.
Member of Parliament representing Constituency 096, Hon. Simeon Fefegula, expressed thanks and appreciation to Orange Sierra Leone for erecting a new site for his people.
This, he noted, will boost communication within the Moyamba Junction and its immediate environs.
The Honourable Member of Parliament informed Orange Sierra Leone that he was constantly engaged by his people on the need to strengthen mobile network at Moyamba Junction and its surroundings.
He assured Orange stakeholders of the safety of the new site and called for further collaboration with the company.
Regent Chief, Fakunya Chiefdom, Chief Junise Jula lauded Orange Sierra Leone for constructing a new site in his chiefdom and intimated that his people were in dire need of Orange network as it is considered as the most vital network in the area.

The Paramount Chief assured Orange Sierra Leone of the security of the facility and recounted that the installation of the new site has now made it possible for them to communicate with their relatives and also effectively enjoy the Orange Money service to attend to trade and other domestic needs.
Mabel Mason, Public Relations Officer, Orange Sierra Leone who chaired the unveiling ceremony, admonished the people to make good use of the network and assured them of the company’s future collaboration with their community.
The news site is expected to benefit nine (09) chiefdoms across Moyamba district and also promote inter-trade activities in the agriculturally endowed commercial district.
