Two Remanded For House Breaking

Magistrate Loyle Jusu, who presides over at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.5, has remanded Ibrahim Sillah and Alfred Smart at the Male Correctional Centre, Pademba Road in Freetown, for the offences of conspiracy to commit a felony, house breaking and larceny, which are all contrary to law. 

The incident took place on the 28th June 2021, at Hill Station in Freetown. The police say Ibrahim Sillah and Alfred Smart, on the 28th June, 2021, in the above address in Freetown, conspired together with unknown persons to commit a crime.

The charge sheet furthered that both accused, on the same date and address, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Komba Lahai (complainant), and stole certain valuable properties, which include one plasma television, valued at four million, one hundred and eighty thousand Leones, (Le4,180,000), one DVD, one HP computer laptop, one dining chair and other valuable properties, which sum up to fifty seven million, one hundred and fifty seven thousand Leones. The properties belong to the complainant.

The police prosecutor, ASP Williams, sought for an adjournment on the grounds that she wanted to have a proper conference with her witness (s). Her application was granted.

The accused were not legally represented. They were denied bail and sent on remand at the Male Correctional Centre, Pademba in Freetown. The matter will come up again on the 21st July, 2021.
