Unprecedented Cabinet Reshuffle… Two Foreign Missions and Ministries Added

President Bio yesterday made an unprecedented cabinet reshuffle of his government exactly nineteen months in power.
The reshuffle created two new foreign Embassies in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and sacked the Ministers of Minister of Water Resources, Jonathan Tengbeh and the Minister of Agriculture, Joseph Ndanemah.
Highlights of the reshuffle has also seen several new faces occupying the new Ministry of Environment in the persons of Professor Foday Edward Jaward, formerly Executive Director, Environment Protection Agency and his deputy Minister.
Sierra Leone’s Chief Innovation Officer has been appointed as the new Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, replacing the labor activist and trade unionist, Alpha Osman Timbo.
Simeon Nashiru Sherriff, former Deputy Minister of Defense has been moved to a new international assignment as the country’s representative to the Islamic Military Counter –Terrorism Coalition in Saudi Arabia.
For the first time, the President has appointed a full Minister of Defense in the person of Rtd. Brigadier Kellie Conteh, former Security Adviser to the President.
The reshuffle has also seen the appointment of three new deputy ministers in the Ministries of Agriculture, Health and Sanitation, and Finance respectively.
Former Secretary to President, Dennis K.Vandi, has occupied the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The cabinet reshuffle has come at a time when many Sierra Leoneans are not quite certain about where the government is taking us in terms of its monetary and fiscal policies.
The cabinet reshuffle by government will yet occupy discussions in all public places in the country.
Sierra Leoneans will debate and analyze exactly what the reshuffle would mean in terms of improving the macro-economic environment.
