The Deputy Leader of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party in Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo on Thursday 16th July, 2020 said in the august body during debate for the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law that “we are very sure of returning to power very soon.”
According to Hon. IB Kargbo, the APC is a honest party that always thrives in national development, adding that for the opposition to support the process of repealing the Criminal Libel Law is among the many good things that the APC has done over the years.
Hon. IB Kargbo argued that the APC party was not the one that created the 1965 Public Order Act (POA), but was now part of the process in Parliament to repeal the draconian law for the good of the nation.
The law, according to Hon. IB Kargbo, has resulted to successive governments using it to breed very dangerous examples to suit them and scoring political points or for vindictiveness.
