White Paper… NRM Backs Ex-President & APC

By Ragan M. Conteh

The Chairman of the National Reformation Movement (NRM), Hon. Sirajin Rollings-Kamara, has disclosed that the NRM was aware that the APC is at the crossroads; they are aware about the threats that the government’s White Paper pose to the survival of their party; they are aware of the many intimidations of their party leaders and stalwarts. He went further that they are not oblivious of the flagrant violations of their national laws and international treaties.

Hon. Rollings Kamara made the disclosure at a press conference organised by NRM on Friday 2nd October 2020 at the APC Headquarters, Brookfields in Freetown.

According to the NRM Chairman, they have catalogued all the inadequacies, which is why they have decided to negotiate without compromising their position to reform the APC and settle their indifference with their party leadership. They have come together as a united and formidable opposition to save Sierra Leone from sinking, liberate their suffering people and form the next government come 2023.

The Chairman said it is their collective resolve that, come 2023, they shall all march to State House singing their victory song in harmony at the dismay and displeasure of their opponents. He stated that, as NRM, they support the APC on their stance that the White Paper of the SLPP government is flawed, selective and it is a deliberate attempt to paint their party Leader and Chairman, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, in a bad image.

He informed that the SLPP government White Paper is questionable and it has no substantial evidence to prove alleged corruption of their party stalwarts. He pointed out that the White Paper aims at nothing but to discredit the hard earned reputation of former President Koroma. He however hastened to remind all and sundry that NRM movement recognizes the fight against corruption in the country.

He urged the ACC hierarchy not to allow the former President come to Freetown for questioning. This is to avoid chaos. According to him, the former President have served his party diligently, fairly and with good spirit, adding that such a man should be treated with respect and dignity. Hon Kamara assured that the NRM is with the APC Party and will ensure that they standby the former President who doubles as the Chairman and Leader of their party.
