Police prosecutor witness, Ibrahim Mohamed Kamara, has testified in a house breaking and larceny matter that is currently ongoing before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 1, involving one Francis Bangura, charged with the offence of house breaking and larceny, which are all contrary to law.
The witness told the court that he recognized the accused, and could recall Sunday, 8th March, 2020, and, according to him, on that fateful day, he was at a neighbouring house when he heard the complainant, Fatamat Sesay, shouting –tif! tif! He said he then went to the scene to find out what was happening.
The witness furthered that, upon his arrival at the scene, he discovered that certain items have been carted away by the accused. According to him, they pursued the accused who, he said, was later arrested and taken to the Calaba Town Police Station in Freetown.
The witness concluded his evidence that the accused later admitted to the allegation to be true and correct, and that some of the properties were discovered at an old latrine within the environs. He noted that all of these were handed over to the police as exhibits and that a statement was obtained from him.
Court details state that Francis Bangura, on the 8th March 2020, at Calaba Town in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, did break and entered into the dwelling house of the complainant, Fatmata Sesay, and stole therein two telephones, a laptop computer, and fiscal cash of one million eight hundred thousand leones, all totaling five million, eight hundred thousand leones (Le5,800,000), which are the properties of the complainant.
The accused was denied bail and remanded while the matter was adjourned to 17th April, 2020.
