Woman Arraigned for Larceny

A 29-year old trader, Fatmata Sesay has been arraigned before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Pa Demba Road court in Freetown for alleged larceny.
Police alleged that the accused stole assorted property valued Le68.8M from Fulamatu Bangura, complainant in this matter.
The Larceny Act of 1916 prohibits the offence of larceny.
Court records indicate that the accused, between 1st and 29th February 2020 at 18 Sani Abacha Street in Freetown stole six boxes of jewelries Le 3.6M, six packet of Brazilian hairs valuedLe21M, 17 packets of razor cut human hair valued Le 4.2M five packets of plaited ribbon caps Le5M valued at Le35M property Fulamatu Bangura.
The accused person, she pleaded not guilty to the offence. Sergeant Hannah is prosecuting the matter on behalf of the state.
Since witnesses were not present in court during the day’s proceedings, the prosecutor applied for a date to bring her witnesses to the court.
The court upheld the prosecutors’ application and adjourned the matter to 31st March.
