Ibrahim Fofanah (21yrs) on Thursday 16 October 2025 made his first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on allegation of attempted murder.
Fofanah was arraigned before the court on five count charges ranging from attempted murder, wounding with intent to murder, wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm all, contrary to Section 47 of the Offence Against the Person Act of 1861.
The indictment states that Fofanah, on Sunday, 7th September, 2025 at Wilkinson Road in Freetown, attempted to murder Vivat Rogers by inflicting injuries on her neck, hands and left side of her face with a knife.
The indictment furthers that Fofanah maliciously wounded Vivat Rogers with intent to murder her and also maliciously wounded her in a manner occasioning on her, actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the defendant no plea was taken because the grievous nature of the offences.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant 8811 Florence M. Wilson went ahead to inform Magistrate Fornah that she has served the defendant all the necessary documents to present his case since he is unrepresented in court.
She however sought for an adjournment indicating that she will lead the witness to testify on the next adjourned date.
Magistrate Fornah refused bail and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown pending the adjourned of 20th October, 2025 for hearing.
