10 Men Sentenced; 1 Remanded for Disorderliness

Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 in Freetown has sentenced 10 defendants to one month imprisonment and remanded one to the Pademba Road Male Correctional Facility for a count of Idle and Disorderly Persons- Contrary to Section 7 of the Public Order Act No. 6 of 1965.

According to the particulars of Offence, the defending persons, Alusine Kamara, Abdul Ishmael Kamara, Mohamed Bilah Jalloh, Mohamed Fornah, Mohamed Kallon, Alphajor Bah, James Mansaray, Ansumana Turay, Abdulai Sama, Kallon, Ahmed Sesay, Lawrence Golia, on Monday, 8th September, 2025, at Lumley in Freetown, were found idling themselves in loose and disorderly manner.

When the charge was read and explained to all accused persons, one pleaded guilty, and 10 pleaded not guilty.

Counsel Ziza is prosecuting the matter while A. Kamara is the defending Counsel on behalf of the defendants.

Having heard from the submission of the Prosecution, and the plea mitigation made by defendants Numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 persons excluding the second defendants, Magistrate Jah sentenced the defendants to one month in imprisonment but excluded the second defendants.

The second defendants who had earlier pleaded guilty, was remanded at the Male Correctional Facility awaiting a date for his trial to continue.
