27 Year-Old Man Docked For Malicious Damage

Moses Sesay has made his third appearance before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 1 for maliciously damaging certain properties at the residence of one Fatamata Juan Kabba (the complainant) of Yams Farm Waterloo, valued at twenty-one million Leones (Le 21,000,000).
Police prosecution witness, Mariama Juan Bull, a school pupil in her testimony told the court that she recognized the accused and that she could recall the day in question while watching a movie at his palour at around 1a.m when she overheard the complainant shouting.
This, according to her, had prompted her to enter into her (the complainant’s) bedroom, adding that when they looked through the window, they saw the accused (Moses Sesay) leading his men into the compound through the main gate with machetes.
The witness stated that the accused and his men attempted to enter through the main door but they were unable but rather to enter through the window into the compound.
The witness stated that sooner they entered, they started using abusive language and threatening languages noting that ‘’we will rape and penetrate your children if you do not open the door,’’ the witness stated.
The witness furthered that the accused and his men fled out of the compound before the Youth Chairman of Yams Farm Community and an OSD officer came to the scene but she noted that they later described the 1st accused to them, adding that the OSD Officer and the Youth Chairman went in search of the accused and he was later apprehended and taken to Waterloo Police Station.
She concluded her evidence noting that the following morning; she was called upon at the police station and made a statement.
The accused was before the court on several counts charge of house breaking and larceny, contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1816, threatening language and other related offences, all contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
Bail was refused and the accused was remanded while the matter was adjourned to 27th November 2019.
