I want to start by congratulating parliament for approving the setting up of the ongoing Commissions of Enquiry.This is another case in which the Ruling party and the opposition took a decision with one accord in the interest of our beloved nation.
I am however surprised that some people said over the media that they would not attend the Commissions of enquiry if called.
Spoken Rebellion
I consider this as a spoken rebellion against the Government.The spoken word has invariably been the root cause of rebellion,wars and destruction.I also consider this an attitude of dishonesty. The mouth always speaks what is in the heart.
Let us suppose that these people swallow their words and later comply or they are forced to do so by the force of the law. Does this mean they have had a change of heart? It cannot be so.They will still be the same people inside.They are likely behaving like wolves in sheeps clothing or political vipers.They should never again be trusted.
Effects on the Youths
These are the people who condemn the bad behaviuor or attitudes of the youths in the nation. Some youths are already in cliques and other evil groups. When statements like ‘’We will not attend if called‘’ are pronounced in public it is indirectly helping to promote lawlessness from rebellious youths. This is why I feel they are too BIG to make such utterances or even think of them, but not too big to obey.
But thanks be to God because most of the youths in this nation now know the truth and support the Commissions.
Transparency of the Commissions
The composition of the Commissions shows that it is intended to be impartial and transparent. Some people want the Commission to be run their own way. They fail to realize that when it comes to matters of national interests and benefits, political affiliation and interests recede to the background .
Is it not a shame that a set of people still speak against the Commissions? Let me make it clear that long after the Commissions have their sittings ,the fight against corruption will continue no matter what government is in power.
Examples are better than precepts
I have said it in an earlier article that in many cases it is the so–called educated people that mislead others, contrary to their expected obligation.
I want to end by advising those calling the Commissions a witch hunt to stop this misnomer. It is a hunt for corrupt humans, and not honest people. Finally, let our education be a light for the people and not darkness. What many people in government and political positions fail to consider is that what we do now will determine the kind of legacy our children and youths will inherit. We should make sure that posterity does not inherit moral decadence.
