NSA Boss Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has urged new SLFA Prexy Babadi Kamara to look into the SLFA constitutional issues that created tensions on August 2, 2025 in Lungi, according to reports.

He made this appeal during Mr. Kamara’s visit to the NSA on Friday, August 8th, 2025 to foster the bond between the two entities and to introduce the new SLFA Executive to the Authority’s leadership.

Dr. Abdulai has been vocal and frank enough to point out the problems constitutional matters can trigger and has been calling for calm through a conscious look at the issues.

Argumentative of those clauses in the SLFA Statutes is Article 37, which speaks to the authority of the Vice-President’s to preside over congress.

At the opening of the congress, Vice President 2 Alie Badara Tarawallie assumed the chair in the absence of both the President Brima and First Vice 1 President. This move sparked controversy, with several delegates arguing he had no authority to lead the session under the SLFA Statutes.

The dispute caused a temporary suspension of proceedings wherein one of the delegates – Benjamin Gordon was brutally beaten and forcefully dragged out of the hall by the police security personnel’s accusing him of obstructing the congress.

“For over four hours we were engaged in a constitutional crisis and then they went ahead ‘paopa’s style’ and held the elections. This is not an election and it’s not credible. I would challenge the process like I did before. I would test the process and I would go to CAS to challenge the entire electioneering process because I believe that what we had here is not a congress, it’s a coronation,” Aminata Bangura, the defeated presidential candidate affirmed.

Now with the NSA Boss Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, who is a legal expert urging the new SLFA President to look into the SLFA constitutional issues that created tensions on August 2, 2025 in Lungi, this have created so much assumption as to whether the Vice President 2 have the mandate to preside over congress in the absence of both the President Brima and First Vice 1 President.
