One Ibrahim Bangura is on trial at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.2, which is presided over by Magistrate George Samai, for the offence of larceny, which is contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
Prosecutor witness, Aiah Swaray, informed the court that he recognized the accused as his neighbor and he could recall 5th March this year.
According to him, on that fateful night, he was in bed sleeping when his elder brother, Sahr Swaray, called him via telephone and gave him information that the accused together with unknown persons have broken and entered into his store at Kissy Road, east of Freetown.
He said, on the next day at around 9am, he visited the scene at Kissy Road in Freetown, and discovered that ten iron rods and other valuable items had gone missing in the store. They are all worth millions of leones.
The witness added that he reported the matter to the Ross Road Police Station in Freetown, since the accused was on the run, noting that he was later arrested at the Ross Road Police Station for another separate matter.
Police charge sheet indicates that Ibrahim Bangura, on the 5th of March, 2020 at Kissy Road in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, broke and entered into the store of the complainant, Aiah Swaray, and stole therein ten iron rods, which are valued at one million, five hundred thousand leones and other valuable items worth millions of leones.
However, the accused was granted bail and the matter was adjourned to 21st April, 2020.
