Abdurrahman Sesay,68, and Modupeh Johnson,60, yesterday Tuesday 21st July, 2020 made their first appearance before Magistrate Marks Ngegba of Court No.2 in Freetown for allegedly obtaining Le62 million from Isata Kabba on the pretext of having three-town lots of land for sale at No. 2 River in the Western Area Rural District (WARD).

The accused were arraigned on four counts of obtaining money by false pretences and causing money to be paid to another with intent to defraud, contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused on Monday 6th May, 2019 at 17 Cole Street, Hamilton in the Western Area Rural District (WARD) obtained Le40 million by falsely pretending that they have three-town lots at No 2 River knowing to be false.

The particulars continued that the accused on the same day at the same place unlawfully caused money to be paid by Isatu Kabba to wit the sum of Le22 million as payment for three-town lots land at No 2 River purported being given to them by their daughter-in-law, Abigail Kargbo knowing same to be false.

Both accused pleaded not guilty of the offence but were however remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned to 30th July, 2020.
