Hassan Kamara, a carpenter by profession, on Wednesday 5th August 2020 made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Court No.4 on Pademba Road in Freetown for stealing inside a church.
The accused is charged with a count of sacrilege, which is contrary to Section 24 of the Larceny Act of 1916
According to the indictment, the accused, on Sunday 26th July 2020, at Redeemed Christian Church of God Emergency, off Peninsular Road Goderich in Freetown, stole church property worth twelve million eight hundred thousand Leones, which is the property of the said church.
No bail was granted the accused; he was remanded in custody until the 12th August 2020. Inspector Marie Sesay is prosecuting the matter.
