SLFA Is Ready to Go for Congress -FA Scribe

The General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Chris Kamara, has stated that had it not been for Covid-19 they are more than ready to go to elections, as the association’s executive committee is ready and prepared for congress.

He said even FIFA’s executives work from home at this moment, adding that they need to be part of the elections; “so we need to be patient as election is a process and we have to go through that process”.

Kamara said the executive committee has instructed him to write a letter to Government through the Ministry of Sports to either lift or lessen the restriction on sporting activities “as we have pending competitions in November and December this year”.

He said they are awaiting Government’s response so that they can come out with a date for the congress.

Meanwhile, football stakeholders have called on the Minister of Sports, Ibrahim Nyelenkeh to take the membership to congress.

According FC Kallon’s Secretary General, Alhaji Komba he sees no reason not hold congress at this point in time taking into consideration the Sports Ministry and SLFA last week unveiled national coaches where around 100 people were in attendance.

“The entire membership of football stakeholders were in attendance during the unveiling ceremony at the Siaka Steven Stadium, so we are kindly appealing to the Minister of Sports to take the football membership to congress,” Komba Stressed.

August 3rd 2020, marked seven years since Isha Jonhansen was elected on opposed after her then opponents, Rodney Michael, Mohamed Kallon and Foday Turay of blessed memory were disqualified.
