Ibrahim Kukuda Turay, a driver by profession, has run out of luck and was arrested by police officers at Lunsar town for impersonating to be a member of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).

The accused, Ibrahim Kukuda Turay, on Friday 28 August 2020, made his first appearance before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of Court No.1 on two counts of impersonation.

According to the charge sheet, the accused, on Wednesday 12 August 2020, at Kamara Street, Lunsar town in Port Loko district, wore a material (combat polo) which bears a resemblance with the uniforms worn by personnel of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).

The charge continues that the accused, on the same place and day, with intent to defraud, falsely pretended to be a member of the RSLAF. Under such clothing, he received from one Mohamed Jalloh assorted energy drinks, amounting to forty eight million Leones.

The accused was not represented in court, and so no bail application was made.

The accused was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned to the 3rd September 2020. Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy is prosecuting the matter.
