Fifty (50) years old Abu Turay, a vehicle mechanic, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh, at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 3, for allegedly stealing a vehicle cylinder head and other parts of the same Pathfinder vehicle, which are all valued at thirteen million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le13,700,000). The said properties belong to Isata Mansaray.
The accused is arraigned before the count on one count of larceny, an offence which is contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the police, Abu Turay, on Sunday 30th October, 2018, at Kissy Bye Pass Road in Freetown, stole certain properties, which include an engine cylinder head, windscreen, wiper blade and other valuable items. The items are all valued at thirteen million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le13,700,000), which properties were entrusted to him by Isata Mansaray for inspection.
The accused was not legally represented. He was refused bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Centre, Pademba Road in Freetown. The matter will come up again on the 6th May, 2021.
