Yesterday 4th May, 2021, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh, who presides over at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.3, committed an office breaking and larceny matter to the High Court of Sierra Leone for further trial.
In his committal statement, Magistrate Daboh said, having gone through the entirety of the evidence, both accused have a case to answer at the High Court.
The 1st accused, Ibraham Mansaray, aged thirty four (34) years, is also a security guard at the Dragon Security Company Limited. The 2nd accused, Ishmael Mansaray, is a student and resident of No. 53 Grassfiled in Freetown.
The 1st accused was before the court on two counts of office breaking and larceny, which are all contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. The 2nd accused, Ishmael Mansaray, was charged with the offence of receiving stolen goods, which is contrary to 33 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The police say Ibraham Mansaray, on the Friday 6th November, 2020, at the Freetown Cheshire Home, which is situated at No. 18 Race Course, Cline Town in Freetown, broke and entered into the office of Dr. Abdulai Dumbuya and stole therein two Dell computer laptops and ten chargers, which are all valued at fifteen million three hundred and sixty thousand Leones (Le15,360,000) ,which are properties belonging to the Freetown Cheshire Home.
The charge sheet furthered that Ishmael Mansaray, on Monday the 9th November, 2020, at Shell New Road, in Freetown, received one Dell computer laptop, which is valued at seven hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le750,000) from Ibrahim Mansaray knowing the same to have been stolen.
Sergeant 7891 Mbalu Magdalene George was prosecuting the matter, during which time she led five prosecution witnesses, including both formal and factual. The accused were committed without bail.
