SON OF FORMER APC YOUTH LEADER ASSAULTED, NEPHEW IN HIDING

Must read

Word reaching this medium is that the biological son of former All Peoples Congress (APC) youth leader in Constituency 107, Abubakarr Mansaray, was mercilessly assaulted by irate ruling party operatives still looking for the former youth leader who is reportedly in hiding and on the run.

Nightwatch was informed that Mohamed Alie Mansaray, son of the former astute APC youth leader, was assaulted by one Memunatu Jalloh who was accompanied by other assailants. Mohamed Alie’s assault was so brutal that it forced Abubakarr’s nephew, Mohamed Lamin Mansaray, son of Bakarr’s late brother, to be whisked away from their home on the report that Alie’s assailants are looking to get hold of him.

This medium was informed that the assailants are hoping to kidnap the boys to force Abubakarr out of hiding.

Since the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) took over the reins of government in 2018, members of the party’s notorious operatives who do clandestine and “dirty jobs” for the party have been hot on the trail of the erstwhile APC youth leader in Constituency 107.

It can be recalled that Abubakarr’s problems started when the then opposition SLPP supporters requested permission from Abubakarr to hold a party rally in his area of operation during the campaign for the 2018 presidential elections, which he vehemently opposed. Abubakarr cited that as an APC youth leader it should be unheard of for him to permit members of the then opposition to use him to rally in his constituency.

The irate SLPP youths promised to manhandle him should their party end up victorious in the 2018 presidential polls. The SLPP did win the highly contentious 2018 presidential vote which resulted in the SLPP youth making good on their promise to manhandle or assault Abubakarr for refusing to grant them their request to rally in Constituency 107.

After his brutal assault, and the open threats made to him by former deputy minister of internal affairs, the now disgraced Lahai Lawrence Leema, Abubakarr fled Sierra Leone and has been in hiding since. The former internal affairs deputy minister made a now popular threat to drink tea in Bakarr’s skull for inciting the riots in the fishing village of Tombo that resulted to the deaths of many protesting civilians, which action continue to sully the image of the president Julius Maada Bio led regime.

Meanwhile, Nightwatch was informed that since they have been unable to get a lead on the whereabouts of Abubakarr Mansaray, the clandestine SLPP operatives under the leadership of one Memunatu Jalloh arrested and mercilessly assaulted Abubakarr’s biological son, Mohamed Alie Mansaray. Their hope was to force the young boy to reveal his father’s location.

Abubakarr Mansaray

Since the boy refused to disclose his father’s whereabouts, Ms Jalloh and her accomplices started looking for Mohamed Lamin Mansaray, the son of Abubakarr’s late brother. Nightwatch was informed that Mohamed Lamin was whisked away by his aunt, Abubakarr’s sister to an undisclosed location for his safety.

Political violence continues to dominate Sierra Leone’s political landscape which violence almost always ends up fatal for those on the receiving end. The notorious former deputy minister was sacked by the SLPP led government allegedly for openly leading and ordering state security officers to shoot suspected APC operatives after the bloody 10 August 2022 nationwide protest that resulted to the deaths of police officers and civilians, and the destruction of police stations and posts across the country.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Alie is receiving home treatment for his injuries scared of being kidnapped from a public hospital. At present both Abubakarr Mansaray and his nephew (son) Mohamed Lamin Mansaray are on the run and in hiding from SLPP operatives baying for their blood.

Nightwatch will keep you updated on this developing story.
