Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone, lawyer Musa Beretay esq, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the All People’s Congress (APC), assuring party members and supporters that the party’s structures remain intact and that decisive steps are being taken to strengthen unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The erudite Barrister, made this assertion on Friday 9th January, 2026, at his office situated at No. 33 Victoria Street, Freeotown.

Lawyer Beretay, who contested for the APC parliamentary symbol in 2023 to represent Constituency No. 124, acknowledged that although he did not secure the symbol, his loyalty to the party has never wavered.

“I am an active member of the All People’s Congress (APC),” he emphasized.

Speaking on the organizational strength of the party, Beretay highlighted the successful National Delegates’ Conference held in Makeni, where delegates democratically elected the party’s National Executive leadership.

According to him, the APC followed due process, beginning with elections at the ward, constituency, district, and regional levels, culminating in the National Delegates’ Conference that produced the current National Executive and Flagbearer.

“The APC party structure is intact, and we are now preparing for another delegates’ conference. This process will again commence with lower level elections scheduled for 27th January 2026,” the erudite barrister explained.

Addressing concerns over party unity, Beretay acknowledged that internal divisions emerged during the 2023 multi-tier elections, particularly due to the formation of factions commonly referred to as Team A and Team B, which created rifts among party members.

However, he expressed optimism that tangible progress is being made to heal those divisions as the party positions itself for victory in 2028.

“There are positive moves to ensure that the divisions within the party subside so that we can enter the 2028 elections as one united bloc,” he stated.

Beretay further referenced assurances from the APC National Acting Chairman, noting that the current National Executive is firmly committed to peace, reconciliation, and unity within the party.

He disclosed that this commitment has resulted in high level engagements with former APC flagbearers, including former Vice President Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana, Dr. Samura Matthew Wilson, and other senior party figures, aimed at fostering reconciliation and collective progress.

As preparations intensify for the lower-level and delegates’ elections on 27th January 2026, Beretay called on all APC stakeholders to conduct their activities peacefully and remain united.

“If the party is not peaceful and united, it cannot achieve its dream. Our dream as APC members or APCian is to win the 2028 elections through the ballot box, and that can only happen if we stay together,” he stressed.

He urged aggrieved members to put aside personal grievances in the supreme interest of the party, emphasizing that every member counts in the APC’s political journey.

Beretay also appealed directly to APC supporters in Constituency No. 124 and across the country to actively participate in the upcoming elections.

“If the people want me to represent Constituency No. 124 in Parliament tomorrow, it starts with this process,” he said, calling on registered and financially up-to-date party members to turn out peacefully and vote for their ward and constituency members.

He concluded by reaffirming that unity, discipline, and collective effort remain the APC’s strongest pathway to reclaiming power in 2028.
