Police are still investigating a matter involving one Kemoh Fofana who is trying to kill his nephew, Kalifatu Fofana who allegedly destroyed three acres of Cacao plantation in Kenema district since 2021.
Findings from the police in Kenema showed that on 15 August 2021, Kalifatu Fofana used dangerous chemicals to destroy the farm.
Kalifatu Fofana’s action resulted into animosity and deep conflict between himself and his uncle, Kemoh Fofana who also threatened to destroy his life just as he had done to the plantation.
According to information, the uncle firmly believes that the plantation left behind by his late brother belongs to him whilst Kalifatu Fofana did not agree with him.
Kalifatu holds the belief that his late father left the plantation in the care of his uncle until he was grown up enough to take over.
Investigation by this press shows that the uncle, Kemoh Fofana was taking care of the property on behalf of the only son, Kalifatu Fofana since he was 12 when the father passed away.
After attaining maturity, Kalifatu Fofana requested his Kemoh Fofana to handover his property that his father left for him.
The uncle became furious and saw Kalifatu Fofana as a threat.
He ( Kalifatu Fofana) reported the matter to the community relations department , Kenema police division after the relationship between himself and his uncle became sour and effort to get back his property failed.
Police took no action even when the matter was reported for the second time, a situation that made Kalifatu Fofanah to take the law into his hand.
This action caused his uncle to trace and kill him.
