Blama Police Arrest Runaway Prisoner

Ibrahim Sesay, an escape prisoner from the regional correctional services facilities in Kenema, was, on Monday 6th August 2018, trapped by Police officers of the Blama Police Station after two months in hiding.

The escapee prisoner told this press that he hails from Water Street, Congo Cross in Freetown, but was arrested and charged to court few months ago for sexual penetration.

He disclosed that he escaped from the Kenema Correctional Center on June 12th alongside one other inmate whose whereabouts hecould not presently tell.

Ibrahim further told nightwatch that after his  escape, a couple of months ago, he decided to head for Monrovia in Liberia, but along the line he became sick after a bag of garrie  fell on his leg while  trying to help a woman carrying  her luggage to the store at Jendema.

The Public Relations Officer at the Kenema Correctional Center, Emmanuel Hassan, told this press that Ibrahim Sesay was later escorted to the Kenema Police Station on the 6th August 2018 by police officers attached at the Blama Police Station. This happened after being arrested while on transit to Kenema.

He stated that said information about the escape of the two prisoners in June this year was communicated to every nook and cranny of the region, which was why arresting him became easy.

Regional Health officer of the Kenema correctional center, David Coomber, said after close examination, Ibrahim Sesay had a serious ailment that needs immediate attention.
