Builder in Court for Murder

A builder, who identified himself as Patrick Williams, on Friday, May 9th 2025, made his first appearance before the Principal Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court No 1, Magistrate Sahr Kekura for allegedly killing Abioseh Wray.

Williams is arraigned before the court on a count charge of murder, contrary to Section 1 of the Offense Against the Person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1 (a) to the Schedule of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act of 2021.

Police allege that Williams, on Tuesday, 1st April, 2025 at Leicester village in the Mountain District of Freetown, murdered Abioseh Wray.

When the matter was mentioned, no plea was taken by the accused because the offense is considered serious.

The Prosecutor, ASP Ibrahim Mansaray sought for an adjournment on the basis that Prosecution witnesses were absent in court.

Magistrate Kekura upheld the adjournment request and adjourned the court to Friday, 16th May 2025 while the accused was remanded at the Central Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road.
