By Janet A. Sesay

Justice Monfred Sesay of Freetown High Court on Thursday 21 September, 2023 during the judicial prison trial at Sefadu Correctional Center Kono district has ordered that Abdul Kamara, Thomas Quee and Simeon Yongai continue their jail terms as they were sentenced for  sexual penetration.

The first convict, Abdul Kamara was sentenced to a jail term of three years imprisonment and Thomas Quee and Simeon Yongai were sentence to four years imprisonment.

Justice Sesay, during the trial, stated that children were not sex objects and they should not be sexually abused as this could take them off track.

He further stated that they can even die during child birth as they have not reached the appropriate age for sex.

Each of the convicts stated before the court that victims were their girlfriends and appealed to the judge to tamper justice with mercy on them.

But, Justice Sesay turned down their appeals as well as  mitigation pleas.

At the conclusion of their trials, justice Sesay said the records of the Correctional Centre showed that the convicts were properly convicted and sentence at the high court, adding that he could challenge the sentence given by the Judge.

He therefore ordered that all three convicts continue their sentence.
