Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jay of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 has sentenced Sheriff Freeman and Ibrahim Kuyateh after they pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny.
Freeman was sentenced to one year imprisonment, while Kuyateh received a six-month prison term.
According to the statement of offence, the accused were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law and larceny. The particulars of offence stated that on 17th April 2026, at We Yone Street, Juba Hill, Freetown, in the Western Area, the two conspired and stole property belonging to the complainant.
Presenting the facts, the Prosecutor informed the court that on Saturday, 18th April, 2026 Dr. Andrew Bamasu Koroma of We Yone Street, Juba Hill, Lumley, reported the matter to the police after Sheriff Freeman was arrested and taken to the Lumley Police Station.
The Prosecution said that on Friday, 17th April, 2026 at about 10:02 p.m., the first defendant allegedly stole ten white plastic factory chairs valued at Le 2,000 each, with the total value stated in the charge sheet as Le 62,000.
During police investigations, the first defendant implicated the second defendant, Ibrahim Kuyateh. The Prosecution further told the court that five tables connected to the case were recovered and are being kept by the exhibit clerk as exhibits.
Both accused pleaded guilty to the charges. Following their guilty pleas, Magistrate Brima Jay convicted and sentenced Sheriff Freeman to one year imprisonment and Ibrahim Kuyateh to six months imprisonment.
