Day Old Baby Discovered Dead At Aberdeen Bridge

A team of police officers at the Congo Cross Police Division, headed by Inspector Kamara, Head of Operations, Congo Cross Police Division, have on 26th February 2019 disclosed to this medium that they found a newly born baby dead under the Aberdeen Bridge with his umbilical cord still intact.
According to the Communication Officer, at the Division, Inspector Mansaray A, at around 0 9: 20, they got a distress call from his colleague, Inspector Jalloh, attached at the Macauley Police Post at Grammar School Junction. He told them about discovering a newly born baby dead under the Aberdeen Bridge along Sir Samuel Lewis Road in Freetown.
Inspector Mansaray A. furthered that, upon receiving the information, himself and a team of police officers from Congo Cross Police Station, including the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), went to the scene and a photograph was taken of the scene.
He also informed nightwatch that they have collected the corpse. They have also contacted community members with view to get information about who have dumped the baby at the bridge. The Community people could not provide any credible news around the mother of the child. Most of the people interviewed were quite apprehensive of revealing the identity of the child’s mother.
The Police later disclosed that they took the corpse to the Police station and later to the Connaught Hospital mortuary for burial.
Abdul Bangura, a resident around Aberdeen Bridge, disclosed to this medium that he discovered the corpse at around 07:00 am, while coming from the bridge. He said he spotted a blue plastic bag and upon opening it he discovered the dead child
Many other residents, who spoke to this medium, recounted how they had seen the dead child and made moves to immediately alert the Police at Congo Cross Division. The identity of the mother was not known.
