‘Doping Is A Serious Crime In Sports’ -Chef De Mission Warns

The Chef De Mission of Sierra Leone, Unisa Deen Kargbo (UDK), has issued a strong warning to members of the sporting family that doping is a serious crime.

Sierra Leone will be participating in several international competitions and the National Olympic Committee has put all mechanisms in place to make sure that athletes representing the country are well prepared.

The hard working Chef De Mission appealed to not only the athletes to refrain from taking performance enhancing drugs, but also called on administrators and technical officials to make sure that they monitor the athletes thoroughly not to involve in doping, as it has the tendency to destroy the athletes’ careers and also Sierra Leone will not be in the good books of World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).

H e urged athletes to do their very best to make sure they use their natural potential to win laurels and not use performance enhancing drugs or relating substances to win medals.

UDK who also happens to be the Team Leader of the Sierra Leone Teqball Federation went further to confirm that Masiaka Town will host the second edition of the Challenge Cup on the 27 – 28 March 2021.

“We shall continue to monitor our athletes to ensure safe sports. We have contacted the medical team at Masiaka to do breathe check for our players, referees, coaches and administrators during the competition. And any one proven to have taken alcohol or cannabis will be eliminated from the tournament,” Chef de Mission said.
