Former presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Matthew Wilson Kamara, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of the party’s National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, describing his death as a great loss to the APC family and the nation.
In a heartfelt condolence message issued on behalf of himself and his family, Dr. Kamara extended his deepest and sincerely sympathies to the late chairman’s wife, children, relatives, and the entire membership and support base of the APC both at home and abroad.
“It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of the National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the All People’s Congress Party, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray,” Dr. Kamara stated.
He noted that death serves as a reminder of the shared humanity that binds all people together regardless of status, position, or political affiliation.
“Death humbles us all and reminds us that beyond the roles we play in life, we are human beings bound together by our shared mortality and our faith in the mercy of the Almighty Allah,” he said.
Dr. Kamara paid tribute to the late APC chairman’s dedication to public service and his contribution to the growth and development of the party, noting that his legacy would be remembered by many who worked alongside him throughout his political journey.
In his message, the former Foreign Affairs Minister joined mourners across the country, honoring a life devoted to service and commitment to the APC and Sierra Leone.
“In this solemn moment, I join all who mourn in honoring a life given to public service and in commending his gentle soul to God,” he stated.
Addressing the bereaved family, Dr. Kamara prayed for divine strength and comfort during what he described as an extremely difficult period.
“To the family, I pray that you will be granted the strength and comfort that only faith can provide in days such as these,” he said.
He also called on APC supporters and members across Sierra Leone and in the diaspora to unite in grief while extending dignity, respect, and prayers to the family of the deceased.
“To the membership and supporters of the party across our nation and in the diaspora, I share in your grief and ask that we surround the bereaved with the dignity, respect, and prayers they deserve,” he added.
Dr. Kamara concluded his tribute with prayers for the repose of the late chairman’s soul, invoking the Islamic declaration traditionally recited upon the death of a believer: “Inna lillahi wa inna lillahi rajuloon” meaning, “Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.”
He further reflected on the powerful nature of life, saying, “God giveth and God has taketh away.”
The passing of Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray has sparked an outpour of tributes from political leaders, party supporters, friends, and well-wishers who have described him as a committed party leader, a unifier, and a devoted servant of the people.
As the APC family and the nation mourn his loss, many continue to pray for the peaceful eternal repose of his soul and strength to those he has left behind.
