This article is written to warn those who are living in wickedness and all types on sin against their creator and their fellowman. They fail to consider that this world is not their home and the world will end someday according to scriptures.
Scientists are still trying to prove the truth of biblical narratives through research: “…………have carried out studies that confirm that the world will end. In their studies, they looked at the productive power of the earth, the example of the land in the world, the change of weather from the first century till now, and the minerals in the soil. Based on these studies, they predicted that the earth can no longer support the population of the world for the many years to come. By this they mean that the world is approaching its end.
But to consider this topic it may be necessary to consider also man’s views about the beginning of the world (both biblical and scientific).
Christians believe in the Biblical account of the beginning in which the heaven and the earth were created by God, followed by the creation of living things, including man.
Dr George Madray, a renowned researcher on the subject, has this to say in his book, titled THE END.
“Many people, basing their beliefs on social Darwinism are anticipating that ever evolving mankind will create its own new world order,-a utopia. With desperate but false hope, they believe life evolved from amoeba to man, and given time, man will socially evolve as well.
They believe man came from ape and he then began to walk upright, – “Homo erectus he then began using tools and became a handy man – “Homo habilis”; he then became wise-“Homo sapiens”; and finally he will discover his divine nature within and become godlike-Homo Christus” man’s imagination is one thing, God’s word is another.
“The world tells us that we are inexorably moving into the most frightening time in history- the culmination of man’s choice disobey God which began in the Garden of Eden.”
Those who believe that the world and all that is therein was created by the Almighty God will have no problem preparing themselves, through righteousness for the coming end. The one who created the heavens and the earth has the power to destroy them.
Adherents to the Theory of Evolution
Those who believe in the theory of evolution will naturally not believe that this world (or this age) will come to an end, and will not prepare for it. If man developed from amoeba and the ape, why are there still amoebas and apes? Why have they not changed over the centuries?
This is food for thought.
Let me restate here that the purpose of this article is to warn and move people to prepare for the inevitable end and escape the coming wrath of God. This is done by avoiding all wickedness and evil and live a life pleasing to God.
EVENTS LEADING TO THE END OF THE PHYSICAL WORLD
- The Rapture of the Saints. The rapture will take place any time from this hour/day. The word rapture means involuntary rising into the air. The rapture of the saints will be the day saints (true believers in God) will rise into the air to meet Christ. How do I know?
Let us look at 1Thessalonians 4:15-17; “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent those which are asleep.
“For the Lord, himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ will rise first.
“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: so shall we ever be with the Lord”.
The rapture is not the second coming of Christ. It is the time when believers who have lived a life of truth, Righteousness and Holiness, will be removed from this earth to escape the greatest tribulation in human history. This is the first major event before the final end of this world.
Your position in the church (Pope, Priest, Pastor, Prophet, General Overseer, etc) will not qualify you for the rapture if you are disobedient and living in sin.
If you really want to be raptured and escape the tribulation which I will describe below, accept Christ now, repent and believe his redemption sacrifice on the cross for you.
The Tribulation
The tribulation is the second major event that will occur before the end of the physical world. This will occur after the true believers, including the righteous dead have been removed from the earth.
During the tribulation which will last for a period of seven (7) years, the Anti-Christ will take over the earth, the beast will take over the government of the earth; He will be Satan’s master deceiver on earth.
In him will dwell all the fullness of the devil bodily.
People will suffer terrible tribulation. This means torture, inhuman treatment at all levels for those who don’t receive the 666 mark of the beast. Such tribulation will be unequalled since the beginning of the world including the days of Noah and will never again be equalled (Matt.24:21). This will be God’s judgement of Israel and the rest of mankind. All will be required to receive the 666 mark of the beast either on their foreheads or at right hand. Those who refuse the mark will not only be tortured and maimed but they will not allow you to buy or sell. Time and space will not allow further details. Try to live a righteous life, submit yourself to Christ and treat your fellow men with love. Then you will not face the tribulation.
Armageddon
This is the next significant event that will take place at the end of the tribulation. Satan, the Antichrist and the false prophet will gather multitudes to fight against Christ.
But in a single day Christ will destroy the Antichrist and his multitudes. Satan will be chained and cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years.
The millennial Reign
Christ will come down with his saints who will reign with Christ a thousand years. There will be no more evil. There will be peace, joy and true worship of God. Earthly kings and thrones will disappear.
End of the Physical World
Peter the Apostle describes the end of the physical world as follows:
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. The earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up.
“Looking for and hasting unto the coming day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.” (2 Peter 3:10 and 12).
The New Heaven and New Earth
A new heaven and a new earth will be created for those who have pleased God where there will be no more sin, sorrow, affliction and pain (Rev. 21:1-7; Rev.22-5). The New Earth is what the Bible calls the New Jerusalem.
The Final Judgement
The wicked shall be cast into hell while the righteous shall be ushered into heaven.
