The National Coordinator of the Civil Society Consortium on Community Accountability and Service Delivery (CSO Consortium), Mr. William Sao-Lamin yesterday 22nd June, 2020 informed the media that the consortium will ensure the protesters arrested in Freetown be released within 24 hours.

Mr. Sao-Lamin said the consortium was established in November 2016 after a National Conference on Community Engagement and Accountability, noting that they are not only limited to resolving issues surrounding  timber logging or environment, but also seeks the welfare of everyone in conflict with the law.

He said the police should unconditionally release all protesters of the raped victim, late Khadija Saccoh and perpetrators be brought to book as speedily as possible.

The late Khadija Saccoh, according to the autopsy report, died as a result of complications from injuries she sustained after she had allegedly been raped multiple times.

In a similar sentiment, one of the leading women organizations in Sierra Leone, the Amazonian Initiative Movement Sierra Leone (AIM)  has in no uncertain terms condemn the raping of 5-year-old Khadija that has resulted to her untimely death.
