Recent public activities held by the EBEMA Movement on Thursday 18th June, 2026 at the Approved School field  East of Freetown, has fueled growing political discussions about the future of President Julius Maada Bio and the direction of Sierra Leone’s political landscape.

‘EBEMA’ which means in Mende language ‘not possible’ is a group within the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) led by the First Lady, Fatima Jabbie-Bio.

At a gathering attended by supporters wearing green T-shirts bearing the slogan “Vote Maada, Bio Tok N Do,” participants openly displayed their admiration for the President and his leadership.

The event, characterised by strong pro Bio messaging, has attracted public attention and generated debates among political observers.

While the shirts and chants demonstrated unwavering support for President Bio, some analysts believe such displays could be interpreted as efforts to sustain his political influence beyond the current electoral cycle. Others argue that the activities simply reflect continued support for the President’s development agenda and the achievements of his administration.

The ‘EBEMA’ Movement has increasingly become visible at public events, with supporters often promoting President Bio’s policies and accomplishments.

Their presence has led to speculation among sections of the public regarding the movement’s long-term political objectives.

Political commentators note that any discussion about a presidential third- term remains highly sensitive and would ultimately be governed by the provisions of Sierra Leone’s Constitution.

As such, supporters and critics alike continue to debate whether the growing visibility of pro Bio groups represents ordinary political support or signals broader political ambitions.

Observers maintain that without an official declaration from the Movement or the President himself, a conclusion about a third-term agenda remains strong.

Nevertheless, the prominence of pro-Bio slogans and coordinated public mobilisation has ensured that the issue remains part of the national political conversation.

As Sierra Leone’s political environment continues to evolve, citizens are likely to closely monitor the activities of groups such as ‘EBEMA’ Movement and the messages they promote in the public sphere.

For now, the image and the event clearly demonstrate strong support for President Bio.
