Industry leader, Riedel Communications has returned as a major sponsor for Glasgow 2026, where it will serve as the Official Connectivity Integration Provider while also becoming an Official Partner of Team Scotland.

The company will oversee the complete design, installation and integration of the Games’ communications and connectivity infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations when the Commonwealth Games return to Glasgow.

Glasgow 2026 is set to usher in a new era for the Commonwealth Games with a strong emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity. As part of that vision, Riedel will provide advanced communication solutions aimed at guaranteeing reliable data transfer, efficient communication systems and spectator safety, while also reducing the environmental footprint of the event through modern technology.

For the first time in Commonwealth Games history, Riedel will deploy its fully integrated data system known as the Glasgow 2026 Games Integrated Network (GIN). The system is powered by the company’s DIVA+ platform, a flexible media backbone designed to support both small-scale and highly complex live events.

The DIVA+ solution can adapt in real time, offers greater operational flexibility and features smart cable management technology intended to minimise environmental impact throughout the Games.

Riedel will connect all venues through its Wide Area Network (WAN), enabling the reliable transmission of live broadcast feeds to the Broadcast Operations Centre for worldwide distribution by rights holders. At venue level, the company’s Local Area Networks (Venue LANs) will provide connectivity for operational systems, including dependable Wi-Fi services.

Riedel brings vast international experience to the role, having previously delivered communications solutions for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022, Gold Coast 2018 and Glasgow 2014.

Speaking on the partnership, Senior Account Manager for Multisport Events at Riedel Communications, Jan Sander, described the appointment as an honour.

“It’s a real honour to support Glasgow 2026 and contribute to an event of this magnitude that brings people and communities together through sport,” he said. “As Connectivity Integration Provider, we take the same approach to technology — bringing together networks, services and workflows through our Managed Technology approach and DIVA+ for seamless and reliable operations across the Games.”

Chief Information Officer for Glasgow 2026, Martin Fitchie, welcomed the partnership, highlighting Riedel’s technical expertise and global reputation.

“We are excited to announce Riedel Communications as our Official Connectivity Integration Provider,” Fitchie said. “Having a sponsor that offers cutting-edge solutions and is committed to mutual success is vital for implementing the systems essential to the Games. We look forward to delivering connected Games with Riedel Communications.”
