The campaign team of All People’s Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) has announced that its preliminary internal assessment indicates the former Attorney General is commanding significant support among the party’s newly elected constituency executives following the APC Constituency Executive Elections held nationwide.
According to a statement issued by the JFK Campaign Team Situation Room, approximately 38.9 percent of the Constituency Executive Committee members elected across Sierra Leone are supporters or individuals aligned with the Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara campaign.
The campaign explained that the assessment was compiled from reports submitted by constituency agents, regional coordinators, district monitoring teams, and other internal campaign structures. It emphasized that the figures remain preliminary and are subject to further verification as reports from all districts continue to be reconciled.
The campaign described the early outcome as evidence of what it called a “broad and growing national support base” for Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara ahead of the APC National Delegates Convention, where the party is expected to elect its presidential flag bearer for the 2028 general elections.
Despite expressing confidence in the preliminary results, the campaign acknowledged that the verification process is ongoing and pledged to provide additional updates when more data is available.
The JFK campaign also congratulated all newly elected constituency executives, regardless of their preferred presidential aspirants, while commending party members for what it described as a generally peaceful and democratic electoral process conducted across the country.
In its assessment of the elections, the campaign credited its nationwide constituency tour for the reported gains recorded during the grassroots polls. It described the extensive engagement exercise as a strategic success that strengthened the candidate’s relationship with party members and expanded his support base across the country.
According to the campaign, the constituency tour enabled Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara to engage directly with party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, women, and undecided members, allowing him to communicate his vision for the APC and the nation while building personal relationships with grassroots supporters.
The campaign further noted that activities such as street walks, market visits, town hall meetings, and community dialogues helped reinforce Kamara’s image as an accessible, energetic, and forward-looking leader capable of uniting the party ahead of future national elections.
It argued that the direct engagement strategy not only increased awareness of the candidate’s message but also translated grassroots enthusiasm into electoral support during the constituency executive elections.
The campaign maintained that the results reflected growing confidence among party members in Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara’s leadership credentials and his vision for the APC’s future.
Political observers note that the recently concluded constituency executive elections are regarded as an important milestone in the APC’s internal democratic process, as the newly elected executives are expected to play influential roles in mobilizing support ahead of the party’s National Delegates Convention.
While the JFK campaign has expressed optimism over its preliminary findings, the official composition and political alignment of constituency executives across the country are yet to be independently confirmed by the APC.
The outcome of the constituency elections is expected to shape the dynamics of the forthcoming delegates’ convention, where various presidential aspirants will seek the support of delegates in the contest for the party’s flag bearer position.
With internal campaigns gathering momentum, attention is now turning to the next phase of the APC’s leadership race, where aspirants are expected to intensify consultations and mobilization efforts as the party prepares for one of its most significant conventions in recent years.
