Mohammed Thorlie, a caretaker on Monday 23rd March, 2020 made his second appearance before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No. 2 to answer to allegation of the alleged murder of one Francis Ria Kelleh Conteh formerly of Goderich, in the western outskirts of Freetown.
Led in evidence by A.S.P Hawa Williams, the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), Detective Sergeant 11640 John Conteh attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Adonkia Police Station said he recognized the accused person in the dock and recalled that on 23rd January, 2020, he was on duty at the station when asked by Detective Sergeant 9170 Edward Jarrett to accompany him to witness a postmortem examination to be carried on the decease at the Connaught hospital mortuary.
He furthered that on their arrival at the mortuary, an autopsy was done on the decease by the government Pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owiz Koroma and that whiles the examination was going on, he took photographs of the scene.
John said after the autopsy was done, he later printed the photos which, he disclosed, were in the custody of the police since but that they were tendered in court as evidence.
The accused was arraigned before the court on one count of murder contrary to laws of this country.
The charge sheet states that the accused person on Monday, 20th January, 2020, at Cemetery Road, off Goderich, along the Freetown Peninsular, murdered one Francis Ria Kelleh Conteh.
The accused was remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Service and the matter adjourned to the 26th of March, 2020.
