Alhaji Kamara, an accused for the offence of murder, has on Wednesday 30th May 2018 pleaded guilty to the offence of murder before presiding Judge Monfred Sesay of the High Court.
The accused was arraigned before the judge on one count charge of wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act of 1861.
The particulars of offence indicated that the accused, on Wednesday 20th April 2016 at Wellington Street in Freetown, wounded Sembu Kamara with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
During the course of the proceedings, he pleaded guilty of the offence of murder and made a plea of mitigation for the Judge to temper justice with mercy as, according to him, the act was not intentionally committed.
Justice Monfred Sesay stated that because the accused had not wasted the time of the court, he would sentence him to twenty years imprisonment.
