Magistrate Manso John Fornah of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 has remanded 23-year-old electrician, Alusine Fasali Mansaray at the Male Correctional Centre.
Mansaray is facing two counts charges of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on June 6, 2026, at Phase 2 Gbangbayilla, Hill Station, Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired to commit a crime.
Count two further alleges that at Phase 2, Gbangbayilla, Hill Station, Freetown, Mansaray stole a black and red medium-sized suitcase valued at Le500, containing assorted ladies’ dresses valued at Le7,000. Other items allegedly stolen include a ladies’ bag, silver-plated necklace, silver-plated wristwatch, identity card, birth certificate, examination results, a shoe rack, electric cooker, three pairs of crepes and three pairs of leather slippers.
The total value of the alleged stolen property is Le10,800, belonging to the complainant, Favour Tarawallie.
When the charges were read and explained to him, Mansaray pleaded not guilty to both counts.
The prosecution, led by 23308 F.H.M., called its first witness, Favour Tarawallie, who testified that she knew the accused because they lived in the same compound.
She told the court that on June 6, 2026, she left the accused at home to look after her property while she went for classes. Upon her return, she discovered that several of her belongings were missing, including a box of clothes, a shoe rack, an electric cooker, a crossbody bag containing documents, a silver chain and a wristwatch, as well as pairs of crepes and slippers.
She further testified that she later confronted the accused, who allegedly admitted taking the missing items and promised to return them.
However, according to the witness, when she later asked him about the property, the accused allegedly threatened to beat and insult her if she continued asking him about the items.
The witness said the matter subsequently led her to make a statement at the Akon Police Station.
Following the testimony of the first prosecution witness, Magistrate Manso John Fornah adjourned the matter to the 16th September, 2026.
