Robbery… Police Detective In High Court

Detective Police Constable 13188 Josephus Musa, attached at the Anti Robbery Unit in Freetown, on Tuesday 5 March 2019 testified before Justice Komba Kamanda of the High Court.
The officer said he knows the complainant, Alpha Abass Jalloh, and also recognized both accused, Abu Kargbo, alias Tolo, and Mukeh Vandy. He recalled 13 May 2016. He said he was on duty when the complainant, Alpha Abass Jalloh, came in and made a report of robbery. Following that the two accused were arrested by the complainant who assisted by Police OSD 13055 Cowan S.S.
He said the matter was assigned to him for investigation. He added that he issued a medical form to the complainant for examination and treatment, which were identified in court and marked as Exhibit Z1.
The Police witness further told the court that he obtained statement from the complainant and witnesses. He said he also obtained voluntary caution statement from both accused on the 13 May 2019. He cautioned and questioned both of them. At the end of their statement, both accused admitted that what they told the Police in their statement was true and correct.
The witness then told the court that he charged both accused with conspiracy and robbery with aggravation, which are contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone. The accused were represented by M.S. Kallon Esq. and Y.I. Kamara is representing the state. Both accused have been remanded in custody until 19 March 2019.
