Scene Of Crime Officer Testifies In murder Matter

Police prosecution witness, Detective Sergeant 10641, Ibrahim Kamara, Scene of Crime Officer attached to the Criminal Investigation Department at the Kissy Police Division in Freetown, has testified before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma, of the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.1, in the ongoing murder matter involving Ibrahim Sesay, alias Okada who is charged with the offence of murder, an offence which is contrary to law.

Mr. Kamara said he recognized the accused and could recall 28th August, 2020. On that fateful day, the witness said he was on duty at the CID at the Kissy Police Division in Freetown the investigator told him to visit the crime scene at Thomas Street, Allen Town in Freetown.

He detailed the court that, upon their arrival, one of the relatives of the deceased, Osman Jalloh, identified the corpse to them. He said there bruises all over his body, which he said he took photographs of. He said the corpse was conveyed to the Connaught Teaching mortuary Hospital in Freetown.

On the 20th August, 2020, the witness added that himself and relatives of the deceased and the investigator officer witnessed a postmortem examination that was conducted by the government pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma.

“On the 21st August, 2020, I developed the photos into pictures, which I wish to produce and tender to form part of the court`s records,” he rounded up his testimony.

According to the police charge sheet, Ibrahim Sesay, on the 28th August, 2020, at Thomas Street, Allen Town in Freetown, murdered Osman Jalloh.

The accused was not legally represented. He was denied bail and sent on remand at the Male Correctional Centre, Pademba Road in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 16th December, 2020.
