Technical Delegates Appointed for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Commonwealth Sport and the Glasgow 2026 Organizing Committee have announced the appointment of 12 Technical Delegates for next year’s Commonwealth Games, set to take place from 23 July to 2 August.

The Glasgow 2026 Games promise an 11-day celebration of sport, featuring 10 world-class disciplines delivered with a future-focused vision. Set within an innovative, compact eight-mile corridor, the event will bring fans closer to the action than ever before. Highlights include a record-breaking Para sport programme, the largest Track Cycling and Swimming competitions in Commonwealth Games history, and the return of the iconic Commonwealth Mile in Athletics.

Technical Delegates (TDs) serve as representatives of international sports federations, tasked with ensuring that each competition is conducted in full compliance with the sport’s rules and regulations. Their role is critical to upholding the highest standards of fairness, safety, and excellence throughout the Games.

The selected Delegates come from seven different nations and bring a wealth of experience, including former Commonwealth Games champions, Olympians, and seasoned leaders from previous Commonwealth and Paralympic events. Their combined expertise spans multiple international competitions, positioning them well to oversee the technical delivery of their respective sports in Glasgow.

  • Athletics and Para Athletics:Chris Cohen (England)
  • Men’s Artistic Gymnastics:Andrew Tombs (England)
  • Women’s Artistic Gymnastics:Trisha Hade (Australia)
  • 3×3 Basketball:Robert Rieblinger (Germany)
  • 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball:Charlie Bethel (England)
  • Bowls and Para Bowls:Mark Cowan (Australia)
  • Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling:Paul Watson (Northern Ireland)
  • Judo:Loretta Doyle (Scotland)
  • Netball:Kate Agnew (New Zealand)
  • Para Powerlifting:Noor Syhieda (Malaysia)
  • Swimming and Para Swimming:Craig Hunter (England)
  • Weightlifting:Sam Coffa (Australia)

The Technical Delegate for Boxing will be announced in due course.
