Emma Morlia Sesay, on Tuesday, 28th January, 2024 made her first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 for allegedly stealing a one-week old baby against the will of the parents.
Accused Emma was arraigned before the court on a count charge of child stealing contrary to Section 56 of the Offenses against the Person Act of 1861.
The indictment states that the accused, on Wednesday, 13th November, 2024 at Fort Street in Freetown, stole a one-week and five days old baby boy named Mustapha Sesay against the will of his parents.
The accused pleaded not guilty of the offense after the change were read and explained to her.
At this juncture, the Prosecutor, Sergeant 8811 Florence M. Wilson sought for a short adjournment date indicating that she has not had proper conference with the witnesses to testify before the court.
The accused was represented by Defense Counsel Musa who made bail application on behalf of the accused, but was denied by the Magistrate and the matter adjourned to 30th January, 2025 for hearing.
