Mohamed Turay has made his fourth appearance before Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koromafor robbery with aggravation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The offence involves subjecting a person to physical violence immediately before or after taking away their property.
Police Prosecution witness, Detective Sergeant Earnest Thombakar Bindi of the Anti Robbery Unit at Ross Road Police Station in Freetown told the court he recognized the accused and that he recalled 4th November 2019.
On the said date, the witness continued, he was on duty at the police station when a case of enquiry file of alleged robbery was transferred from Hastings Police Station and assigned to him for further investigation.
The transferred case and enquiry file, according to the police witness, contained an endorsed police medical form bearing the name of complainant, Abdul Mansaray. The endorsed form which was tendered by the police witness formed part of the court records.
The witness further testified that he obtained additional cautioned statements from the accused Mohamed Turay witnessed by Detective Sergeant Conteh M.
The witness rounded up his testimony by stating that he and detective sergeant Conteh charged the accused with offences of robbery with aggravation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm owing to sufficient evidence adduced against him.
The police information sheet states that the accused, Mohamed Turay,4th November 2019 at Yams Farm, in the Freetown Judicial district, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone robbed one Abdul Mansaray of his HL Star motorbike valued Le7M.
The accused was denied bail and the matter comes up on 20th January.
