A plumber, Foday Faragbo, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court in Freetown after being found guilty at the conclusion of a trial on one count of larceny from a vehicle, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, on Monday, 4th May, 2026 at Byrneloane Drive 2, Aberdeen, within the Freetown Judicial District, Western Area, Faragbo stole Le75,250 from a vehicle bearing registration number APG 911, the property of the National Pentecostal Church.
The accused, a Sierra Leonean plumber residing at Aberdeen Ferry Road, was arrested on 26th May, 2026 following police investigations and was subsequently charged with the offence.
During the trial, the Prosecution presented evidence to support the charge against the accused. At the conclusion of the proceedings, Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah found that the Prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted Faragbo of larceny from a vehicle.
In passing sentence, the Magistrate imposed a five-year term of imprisonment. The stolen money, valued at Le75,250, was identified as the property of the National Pentecostal Church.
The convict was subsequently remanded to serve his sentence in accordance with the court’s order.
