Mercury International, the number one sports-betting company in Sierra Leone has presented a cheque of one hundred and seventy thousand new Leones (170) to a lucky winner, Mr Kargbo who currently resides in Bo. Kargbo predicted and played the first five lotto numbers and won all five.
With just a two-Leone bet, he won two hundred thousand new Leones but after paying taxes to government, he was handed a cheque of one hundred and seventy thousand new Leones.
The presentation of the money to Mr. Kargbo was done on Monday 13, April, 2026 at the Mercury International head office, Krootown Road in Freetown.
During the presentation, the Managing Director, Mercury International, Martin Edmond Michael said this was a historic moment for mercury and the winner.
He said this is a very unusual achievement for a person to predict the first five lotto numbers and win all.
Director Michael added that it is very difficult for such a thing to happen and that is why, he said, they are always encouraging people to play two or three numbers to win but that this time, Lucky Winner Kargbo has done a miracle by predicting the first five lottery numbers and winning all five.
Director Michael further states that after Mr Kargbo’s win, he insisted that the money be presented to him in Freetown instead of Bo so that he would have the opportunity to meet with winner Kargbo, present him the cheque himself and have the winner explain to people how he played the magic.
Director Michael further expressed how delighted and proud he was to meet Mr Kargbo and congratulated him on his winning.
He also reminded people that there is a fantastic promotion ongoing now at their Mercury Bett, online platform where one lucky winner will win a brand new house.
While handing over the cheque of one hundred and seventy thousand new Leones to Mr Kargbo, Director Michael advised him to use the money judiciously by investing in something viable.
“You cannot win if you don’t play as lottery is the game that keeps people going,” Director Michael further stated.
Director Michael however insisted that children under the age of eighteen (18) are prohibited from playing any of their games. “Play what you afford,” he also advised adults.
On his part, Winner Kargbo thanked Mercury International for such financial boost, adding that this is a dream come true.
He happily said that his birthday is two days away and now he has won such a mouthwatering sum of money.
Winner Kargbo encouraged his audience to trust Mercury International as according to him, “the company is real.”
He said the appetite to win Mercury is by luck and that players should always be patient. He added that some of his friends are grumbling that the betting balls are being shifted by the workers but that he always tell them to be confident.
Winner Kargbo said he was excited when he received a call that he has won such amount of money from Mercury International. This, he said, was his first time of winning such money.
Winner Kargbo further states that after receiving the good news, he went to the Mercury office in Bo and talked to a lady that he met behind the machine who asked him to collect the said money in Freetown.
Winner Kargbo said he is a businessman and he will use the said money to boost his business.
