By Musa Paul Feika

The police prosecution witness (PW3), Saidu Bangura, who is also a mason, has testified before Magistrate Wilbri Hamida  Moira John, at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.1, in the ongoing matter involving Reverend David Fofanah who allegedly assaulted Suliaman Dauda Sesay (complainant) in a manner thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.

Mr. Bangura continued that he recognized both accused as well as the complainant, and could recall Wednesday 28th October, 2020.

He informed the bench that, on day, he was constructing a fence at the complainant`s residence, when the accused suddenly arrived and asked them to stop the construction.

The witness said, while they were digging holes to erect the fence, the accused came along with a shovel and started covering the already dug holes. When the complainant came, “I narrated to him what transpired between them and the accused,” he told the court.

PW3 told the bench that, when the complainant asked the accused as to why he stopped the construction, the accused hit him seriously on his left shoulder.

According to Mr. Bangura, this resulted into a fracas between them. “I advised the complainant to report the matter to the nearest police station, which he did,” the witness concluded his testimony.

The police charge sheet adduces that Reverend David Fofanah, on Wednesday 18th October, 2020, at Kissy in Freetown, assaulted the complainant in a manner thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.

Bail of the accused remains in force and the matter was adjourned to 31st March, 2021.
